Creating text to vector AI. One of the newer tools that was recently added to Illustrator is AI vector creation. With this tool, you can describe a vector image you'd like to create and it will generate it for you. It's a robust tool, but it can be a bit tricky to get the results you're looking for. There are other AI tools for creating art like Dolly and Midjourney, but it's important to note that many of them only export in raster format, not vector. This means that you won't be able to edit the shapes or colors in Illustrator. By using Illustrator's built-in tool, you can create AI generated vectors that are editable. To open the AI generator tool, go to window and select text to vector graphic. Let me dock this tool so it stays in place. In the text to vector panel, I can choose the type of vector I'd like to create. I'll start with subject. I can also toggle on and off match active artboard style. So, if you have vectors already on your artboard, turning this on will match their style. I'm going to leave it turned on so that it matches the style of my current illustration. I'm going to type a simple prompt and click generate. You'll notice that it gives you a few different variations to choose from. Now I'm going to try changing the type but using the same prompt. So I'll start with scene. And next I'll try icon. As you can see the results aren't perfect. Some of the shapes are a bit wonky. The icon one you can see is pretty strange. It can also be difficult to get consistent results with complex illustrations or if you're looking for specific styles, but it can be a really great place to start. And of course, now that I have these vectors, I can use the direct selection tool to modify the anchor points and change the image a little bit. It's also important to note that the prompts you use are really important. The one I provided was simple and I really should have been more specific if I wanted to get better results.
