Another useful tool that exists across
many of the Adobe programs are the guides.

Guides are used to help you line up
elements and create clean

and precise layouts.

You can see that I already have
my rulers enabled here on my document,

if yours aren't showing,

you can always come up to the view menu
and make sure that rulers are checked off.

Mine says hide rulers.

Because it was already enabled,
but if they weren't showing,

you would just click show rulers
and now you'll see they appear.

So because we originally chose inches,

you can do this by clicking

and dragging from, in this case
the vertical ruler.

And then you can place it

that won't be printed,

but you can use it to help line up
elements.

You can also pull down from the horizontal
ruler to place a horizontal guide.

Once you've placed the guides,

you can click on them to select them
To move them around to other locations.

If I want to move more than one
guide at a time, you can hold down

shift to select multiple guides
and now you can drag them.
