The Technology Planning & Innovation (TPI) unit is the technical backbone of The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University. We are dedicated to supporting both students and faculty as they bring creative ideas to life. TPI ensures that teaching, creative production, and research are powered by robust infrastructure, modern tools, and expert technical guidance.
TPI’s work spans multiple domains:
Production Support — providing audio/video production resources and technical staff for labs, studios, events, and media projects.
Technology Infrastructure & IT Support — delivering network services, digital tools, media systems, and general IT support to students, instructors, and staff.
Makerspaces and Fabrication Facilities — managing hands-on labs such as the Design + Technology LAB, where students can access advanced tools for digital fabrication, 3D printing, textile computing, AR/VR, robotics and more.
EduTech — helping embed emerging technologies into curricula, ensuring courses and creative projects stay current with industry standards.
Through these services, TPI empowers a wide range of people at The Creative School. From first-year students learning technology fundamentals, to experienced faculty running complex media productions, to researchers and creative professionals using cutting-edge tools.

Production Training and Support Staff
Specializing in audio, Max provides technical support for creative technology resources to meet the needs of The Creative School faculty, staff, and students in physical and/or virtual classroom settings and co-curricular capacities. Kevin Konarzewski
Production Technician, Audio
As an Avid-certified Pro Tools instructor and audio technician, Kevin maintains and oversees activity in The Creative School's audio production facilities and provides technical support, guidance, and training for students, staff, and faculty users. Connect with Kevin for information and support with Pro Tools, music/radio/podcast production and post-production, live audio, immersive and spatial audio (Dolby Atmos), the Allan Slaight Radio Institute, and any of The Creative School's recording and mixing studios and equipment.
Scott Martin
Technical Director
Supports and facilitates the use of all technical elements within the Creative School Chrysalis and oversees all show crew who work in the venue. Creates and oversees numerous seminars for students to learn the process of creating a live event and mentors students through the use of the equipment for both internal and external partners. Senior Production and Programming Specialist
Brian plans, coordinates, implements and executes the media coverage by The Creative School students of special events, live events, media content, varsity activities, co-curricular and community engagement initiatives for students, staff, faculty and external clients. Kelly Read
Production Technician - Live Event
Kelly coordinates and oversees equipment and facility usage and administration for Performance at The Creative School. Provides technical training, support, advice and guidance related to live events to faculty, staff, and students. Supports the organization and production of all Performance-related live events. Angela Glover
Production Technician, News and Multimedia
Angela specializes in radio, podcast, and audio production, with additional experience in multimedia storytelling and social media. In her role at The Creative School, Angela supports and trains students in industry-standard equipment, editing software, and production workflows. She works closely with student teams to produce live radio and TV news broadcasts, podcasts, features and performance-based journalism training. Angela also provides technical and course production support to faculty across The Creative School, offering guidance on multimedia workflows and equipment.

Caileigh has a background in broadcast television technology. She provides technical support and guidance to faculty, staff, and students across the Creative School for both curricular and co curricular activities. Bosco provides technical support for creative technology resources to meet the pedagogical and production needs of The Creative School’s faculty and students across physical and virtual classroom environments, as well as in co-curricular contexts. He serves as a resource for matters related to film and television production; single-camera and multi-camera live production; journalism and news gathering; photography and photojournalism; lighting and grip equipment; camera systems; and post-production workflows. Lead, Premedia Information Technology Specialist
Oversees the day-to-day administrative and technical operations of The Creative School’s Labs and Print facilities. Works closely and provides technical support to students, faculty and staff to address their needs. Maintains all equipment and IT infrastructure in School laboratories. Performs installation of hardware and software in labs. Collaborates with other teams within TPI in the design, implementation and maintenance of technology solutions to ensure services and support are delivered efficiently.

Technology, Operations and Production Specialist
Oversees day to day operational and technical support to faculty, staff and students, on matters related to shared instructional and production facilities. Conducts tutorials and demonstrations on the operational use of equipment and processes involved in instructional facilities and instructional delivery. Makes technology recommendations to the Manager and installs or oversees installation. Provides back-up support to the equipment distribution facilities and acts as a lead hand over staff assigned to support facilities.

Operates and maintains equipment, materials, software and Graphic Communications Management based facilities. Facilitates daily lab operations. Demonstrates and advises students and faculty/instructors on the use and safety of the facilities, equipment and software. Performs administrative activities and supports special events.

Supports the digital imaging lab, related workflows, equipment, and software to serve The Creative School programs and research activities. Ensures students, faculty, and staff have access to the digital imaging lab and scanning facility.

Provides technical and administrative support to the daily operation of the technology distribution activities and facilities. Coordinates facility and equipment access for faculty, students and staff. Provides technical guidance, distributes and maintains equipment, performs minor repairs, and ensures the availability and effective functioning of equipment for faculty and student use.

Film Production & Preservation Technician
Provides technical support for film processing and darkroom facilities , the Film to Video/Digital transfer facility, Oxberry animation stand, dark rooms, cameras and related production equipment. Supports undergraduate and graduate programs and maintains film collections. Oversees the equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Brian Corcoran
Technology Support Specialist
Provides in-person and remote support and advice on the use of technology services (hardware and software), including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and training of systems. Performs repairs and regular maintenance on equipment and facilities. Researches and recommends on technology solutions and develops related documentation for the support of these technologies. Supports the efficient running of the equipment tracking database system, documents repairs and ensures clients’ issues and requests are resolved and addressed.

Oversees the daily operations and access to the Equipment Distribution Centre and supports shared facilities for the Faculty. Performs and coordinates equipment distribution centre operational administration.
