IMA123 Primary Analogue Darkroom

This recently built/renovated Darkroom was designed to promote class and peer supported printing. The accessible and collective approach to this lab supports student projects with 14 independent enlarging stations, dimmable LED safelights, a B&W RC paper processing machine, a 4×5 film processing machine, a light-tight film loading room (with filtered compressed air), a large sink for tray processing, and chemicals to support standard darkroom printing and film processing.

ACCESS: All years of the Photography Media Arts, Documentary Media, Film + Photo Preservation and Collection Management programs.

REQUIRED TRAINING: Classroom training from an instructor, and completion of a safety orientation.

BOOKING: This space can be booked through the Image Arts WebCheckout Centre. Please note that you will not be able to access the online booking system until you’ve submitted your Technical Operations Agreement Form (required each school year).
